How zaroff and rainsford are similar is they're hunting, civilazation,and they nother went from being the hunter to the hunted.

Literary terms! Protagonist: The main character in the story, the hero. example: the protagonist in the story The Most Dangerous Game is Rainsford. Antagonist The person who is conflicting with the protagonist or something els. Example: the antagonist in the story The Most Dangerous Game is Zaroff. Dynamic Character A character that undergoes a permanate change in outlook or character during the story. example: Rainsford can be connsidered the dynamic character because he undergoes a character change. External Confict A character struggles against an outside force. Example: Rainford is ryin t stay alive, whie Zaroff is trying to kill him. Suspense uncertainty or anxiety the reader feels about what is going to happen next in the story. example: When Ransford is setting traps for Zaroff its suspenseful to see if the traps work. Thesis: Zaroff and Rainsford are similar. 1.) Zaroff and Rainsford are corrupted because they both hunt people. " I refused to believe that so modern and civilized a young man as you seem to be harbors romantic ideas about the value of human life." ( coenell pg. 13) " The week of the world were put here to give the strong pleasure." (cornell pg.14) 2.)Civilization isn't really that civilized. " Civilized? And you shoot down men?" (cornell pg. 14) " I am strong. Why should I not use my gift? If i wish to hunt, why should I not?" (cornell pg. 14) Plot Line Zaroff: Hes classification of civilization is a little different then most, He has class but mentally he's corrupted. As a little boy he grew up hunting all sorts of animals. But eventually he got bored with hunting animals and started hunting men for the simple reason that they can reason. Rainsford: Rainsford also grew up hunting. he was in the war, and he has been to many different places . The good thing about Rainsford is he values human life, even if he didn't believe animals had feelings hestill cared. The story starts off with Rainsford on a ship and is traveling to a new place to go hunting. But he falls over board and winds up and this island. There he meets Zaroff, whom at first seems like a decent, civilized man. But turns out to be very evil and corrupted. He hunts men instead of animals because its more exciting for him. So he invites Rainsford to go hunting with him. But Rainsford rejects him because he's agains hunting men. So then Zaroff decides to hunt Rainsford instead. So now Rainsford has gone from being the hunter to the hunted. Now Rainsford is doing all he can to not get killed like setting traps, trying to make things harder for Zaroff. But Zaroff is a very experienced hunter and doesn't fall for any of them. But in the end Rainsford makes Zaroff believe he drownd himself,so Zaroff goes home and to his room. But waiting for him is Rainsford and he finaly killed Zaroff. Now Rainsford has offically become the hunter again. THE MOST DANGEROUS GAME
