The HARBOR ADVANTAGE PROGRAM is an optional program that you can be a part of while attending LAHC to help you be successful.

The program is designed primarily for new students transitioning from high school or for continuing students who have completed 10 or less units.

The program is designed to help you decide your area of INTEREST and your MAJOR!

The Section # is the most important item in a class listing; you will use this number to register for your classes online
Be sure to note lecture hours and days as to not create conflicts when scheduling classes
Also, be sure to take note of prerequisites. These are requirements that must be completed before you attempt to enroll in certain classes.

Your Harbor College email account is the official means of communication between the college and you.
Check your email account continuously for college updates.
This is also how your professor(s) can reach you.

From the Harbor College website (www.lahc.edu), click on the link at the top of the page that says "Class Schedule"
Scroll down the page to find the class schedule for the semester you are interested in and view/download the schedule
Select your classes (noting the section # for each class) based on the educational plan you created with a counselor

1. Select "Registration" from the right menu once logged into the SIS
3. Choose the semester and year
2. Choose the college you will be attending
4. Select the "Add" action
5. Enter the "Section #" of the class you would like to add
The only difference is that you select the
"Drop"
action instead of the "Add" action
You "Drop" a class from your schedule the same way
1. Select "Registration" from the right menu once logged into the SIS
3. Choose the semester and year
2. Choose the college the class you would like to drop is at
4. Select the
"Drop"
action
5. Enter the "Section #" of the class you would like to drop
You can't add the class because it is full and there is no waitlist
The class you attempted to enroll in was cancelled (check the online class schedule often for changes to classes)
You haven't met the prerequisite requirement for the class
Sometimes, if a class is full you can chose to be on the waitlist (which means you are not officially enrolled and will have to add this class in person)
If you were added to the waitlist for a class or were unable to add a class, follow these steps to be added to a class:
Attend the 1st day of class
Ask the instructor for an "Add Permit"
Submit the Add Permit to the Admissions & Records Office as soon as possible
For online classes, email the instructor to request to be added to the class (visit the website www.lahc.edu/harboronline.html to determine if online classes are right for you)
