INTRODUCTION TASKS PROCESS RESOURCES EVALUATION CONCLUSION WEBQUEST Cristina Pérez Prieto & Sara Pérez Prieto. Pre-Task Task First of all, as teachers we must know which are the previous knowledge that our pupils have about the Earth's day and how to protect the environment. Because of that, we propose to start with a beautiful song created by Disney on 2012 for celebrating that special day. We think is a good idea to introduce this topic with a song because that is something extremely motivating for kids. We could learn the lyric and a dance too, but the most important thing is to create in our classroom a consideration thinking about different kind of things. We must talk about those questions:

Do you recognize the animals which appear in the video?
Do you know where they live?
Do you think humans must take care of nature? Why?
How can we protect the environment? What things could we do to protect it?
Do you recycle and reuse things? How? There are lots of resources on the Internet which we could use to work this topic (Earth's Day) in class. For example these ones are useful for kindergarten:
MICHAEL RECYCLE: this is a famous story about a superhero called Michael who wants to take care of nature. First, we could watch the story and then we can play online this game: http://resources.kaboose.com/games/michael-recycle.html

The conservation of the nature is celebrated on this day, but it is something that we have to do everyday because the environment allows us to live. So, the Earth care is going to be worked in the kindergarten with the aim of sensitizing about the importance on our lives of taking care of the nature. At least, it must be taught in kindergarten because the pupils are going to be the carers of the Earth. A WebQuest, according to Bernie Dodge, the originator of the WebQuest concept, is an inquiry-oriented activity in which most or all of the information used by learners is drawn from the Web. WebQuests are designed to use learners' time well, to focus on using information rather than on looking for it, and to support learners' thinking at the levels of analysis, synthesis, and evaluation. Planning Color bins
Little children in kindergarten learn and internalize the competence repeating a behavior during a long time. So, in this activity we want children learn to recycle, they must repeat this behavior constantly all through the course. For that, the teacher will put different color bins: the green bin is for organic rubbish, the blue one is for paper and the yellow one is for plastic. In that way, when pupils will have to throw out some trash, they should think what is the appropriate bin that they must to use.

Kids in Kindergarten must know they have to recycle but they should reuse too. So, in this activity pupils have to bring a plastic bottle for making a plant pot and cultivating plants and vegetables. Firstly, the teacher will cut children’s bottles and later, students will fill of soil each bottle and they will bury different plants and vegetables seeds. This activity is done in one day but after that, children have to water plants each day. Report Those proposed activities are designed for the kindergarten classes but they can be used in different courses because they can be adapted for kids of different ages. Probably, little children would need help in kindergarten but they can include recycling routines and they can be initiated in the care of the environment.
In our opinion, these activities are appropriate and recommended for children from 3 years because it is important to take care of the environment from early ages. Analysis The activities could be improved to ensure children’s learning by adapting them as we explain below:

Pre-task: The pupils must sing the chorus of the song and they have to dramatize it. Then, they will learn some new concepts of the Earth care.

Task: The teacher could realize the computer games in class, so he/she can move the games to reality.

Planning 1: Children can show in class what they do in our homes for recycling. For example, they can take photos recycling at home, or throwing out their rubbish in the public bins.

Planning 2: Children have to draw in a poster each vegetables or plants which they have planted and then they could write their names if they can write. Practice The school could organize a trip to a garden for looking different plants and planting new ones. Moreover, they could visit a place where live different animals. For example, in our city León, children could go to the “Coto Escolar”. Then, they can learn about vegetation and animals which live there and children can make some activities to care the environment like recycling paper, making candles with beeswax, etc. There are different steps to make this WebQuest which are explained in the following points:
First, we must introduce the topic through a pre-task as we explained before because it is necessary to know the pupils' previous knowledge.
Then, we have to make some tasks to teach more contents connected with the main topic. Some activities could be made with online resources, but we could also make them with another kind of resources as we could see on the planning.
After that, we must make some activities which include more practice. They are recommended to be made not only in class, but in different areas as the playground, the park, the mountain, the "Coto escolar", etc.
Finally, teachers must asses pupils' knowledge and their own teaching process using rubrics. So we can make an evaluation about the progress of this WebQuest. Parti Fosters positive interactions among students and teaches useful social skills. Develops students' self-discipline and teaches them to take responsibility for their own actions. Activates students' prior knowledge and hooks their interest in each unit and lesson. Is a positive team player and contributes ideas, expertise, and time to the overall mission of the school. To conclude, we must express the importance of purposing dynamic activities which could help children to understand and integrate the different contents (those which are included in this WebQuest). There are a lot of ways to teach kids about taking care of environment, but in this case a WebQuest supplies a wonderful resource to get the aims of celebrating the Earth's Day. The proposed activities needs different resources which are described below:
- Technological devices for watching videos and playing virtual games.
- Color bins for recycling.
- Plastic bottles, soil, seeds and compost for planting.
