Malala and her fellows was riding on the bus-home after an exam when it suddenly was stopped by the Taliban.

After the bus stopped, there was a masked gunman (a Taliban indeed) shouting at everyone on the bus,

"
Which one of you is Malala?"
C'mon, tell me now! otherwise everyone will be murdered.

Then, she was recognized and hit with one bullet, which went through her head, neck, and ended in her shoulder.

She is widely well-known for her activism for rights to education, specifically in the Swat Valley, where the girls couldn't go to the school, because it was forbidden for them.
