There are both many advantages and disadvantages of ICT as there are many good social impacts as well as many bad ones. There is an equal balance of both.
Cyberbullying is a major problem in the social world of today, many children are harmed, tormented or threatened by others through the use of the internet, mainly on online games, chat rooms and so on. Many children have committed suicide because they have been involved in a cyberbullying incident.
ICT has lead to the development of online dating, by going on dating websites and registering on it. People are able to talk with each other and meet up. Many of today's couples met up online. But there are also negatives of this as this can bring a cycle of insecurity and discourage the user from taking real life relationship risks because of the immediate potential of rejection and perceived pressure to impress.
ICT has lead to the development of robots, these robots have taken some of the jobs as they are much faster and efficient in some jobs compared to humans. This is leading to more unemployment as there jobs are being taken. They also provide jobs as they require fixing and making.
Taking and providing jobs
In this presentation I will be talking about the social impacts that have been caused by ICT. Things such as cyberbullying, robots taking over our jobs and online dating.
