Transcript of The Pros and Cons of Zoos

The Pros and Cons of Zoos By Bridget Scanlon My Opinion I believe that all animals should be left alone in the wild. Although some zoos preserve and save different endangered species, no animal deserves to be locked up in captivity. PROS Cons Zoos act as a safehouse to animal species that may be becoming extinct. Staying in the zoos causes the animals to suffer from captivity-related stress, which can result to diseases or the shortening of their lives. The animals kept in the zoos can perform a useful educational function for adults and especially for children. To prevent over capacity, zoos use birth control and euthanasia. Zoos also take animals out of their habitats and put them in zoos to use as "breeding machines." Works Cited Seely, Ron. "Sure, the Animals Are Cute, but Vilas Zoo Also Has a More Serious..."
