During the Revolution the industry grew a lot!
The early Americans decided to use machines other than people.
But the machines took away peoples job.
One of the higher machines were called the Spinning Jenny
Who was created by Englishman James Hargreaves.
The Spinning Jenny had lots of spinning wheels
The machine was able to make 8 threads at once!
The richest people had the best machines to make clothing.
So most of the rich people competed in seeing who had the best machine.
The problem with that was that prices raised on real company's so the people used the rich people's machine.
Rich People Problem
The solution was to make higher tech machines
The early textile industry needed to learn how to change raw cotton into nice and fresh finished cotton.
Since the spinning jenny was very useful it cost lots of people their jobs again.
How does your Job Affect what Happens Today?
