X/Y are the corrdinates but when you find the slope it flips to Y/X X is horizontal and Y is vertcal The reason why Y goes on top before the X when finding the slope is because you have to rise and then run The formula for slope is rise/run It's called that because you have to rise (up) first which is the y axis and the then run (across) which is the X axis A line thats shaped like a U is called nonliner A straight line is called linear You can use a ruler to tell if a line is linear or not If the ruler touches the line nly once then its linear
