Born into Music
Whitney was surrounded by ledgands like Dionne Warwick and Aretha Franklin
She's the daughter of gospel star Cissy Houston and had a realativly good up bringing.
She song in the choir for New Hope Baptist Church where she got her first chance to sing and wow audiances.
Toxic Love & Other Drugs
Some might say that Whitney tragic downfall started when she married Bobby Brown.
Due to thye influence of her husband Whitney turned to alcholism and substance abuse
Her love for Bobby got in the way of her amazingly sucessful career but that wasn't her tragic flaw.
Whitney Houston: American singer and actress whose first four albums, released between 1985 and 1992, sold over 86 million copies world wide.
Whitney released her debut album at age 22
Played in movies like The Bodyguard, The Preachers Wife, Waiting to Exhale, and Sparkle
She married Bobby Brown and had one child Bobbi Houston Brown
But she will always be remembered for her oustanding songs and renowned voice and will go down as one the greatest female soul singers of all time.
Starting Her Career
She became a sought-after teenage model and was one of the first African American women to appear on the cover of Seventeen magazine.
At the age of 19 she was providing backing vocals for Lou Rawls, Jermaine Jackson and even her own mother until Whitney was discovered by Clive Davis of Arista Records, who signed her and introduce the singer to the pop scene.
The Top of the World
By the age of 25 Whitney had two highly sussceful albums, over 6 grammy's, a world tour and and several hit singles under her belt when she decided to marry long time boyfriend Bobby Brown. She was at her prime when things started top go south.

Her movie "The Bodyguard" is the world's largest selling soundtrack with over 42 million albums sold

Whitney's 1991 Superbowl rendition of "The Star Spangled Banner" is the only version to be certified platinum.

Whitney is the only artist with at least one Grammy, American Music Award, Emmy, MTV Video Music Award, MTV Movie Award, People's Choice Award, and Billboard Music Award to their name.

Whitney had rocky marriage issues, struggles with drugs and health problems threatened to derail her career.
She had several concert cancellations, attended various interviews and public apperances where she appered ghastly, sick, and malnurished.
Her drug abuse, bad behavior and crumbling marrige were displayed to the world causing Houston's reputation sink to all new lows.
Due to the backlash of the media and the dissapointed fans Whitey tried desprately to fix her marrige, family and career even going to rehab and marriage counciling.
But after many relapses she took a step back from her career to focus on the well being of her and her daughter and divorced Bobby Brown in 2007 and won sole custody of her daoughter, Bobbi Huston Brown.
But after trying to reclaim her career witgh the she new album, I Look To You, her old habits started to show themselves again and Whitney Huston could not live up to the expectations of the new and old generation people even said her voice just wasn't the same live.

Her doubt and refusing that she had a problem was her true tragic flaw.
Bobby Brown even filmed a reality show on Bravo called Being Bobby Brown where it showed the worst of Whitney's breakdown causing the media to view her in a bad light.
She even realeased an album in 2008 and tried to show people that she had changed for the better. T
he album was loved by her fans and even spent time on the charts.
In 2012, Houston was experiencing financial trouble due to her career downfall, but had a movie, Sparkle, coming out in hopes of fixing the problem.
Sadly she would not see the day beacause on Febuaray 11, 2012 Whitney Houston died due to 'accidental drowning' but the autopsy report relased latter on said that she did in fact have cocaine in her system. The doctors also say the effects of her heart disease due to earlier substance abuse was what ultimately killed the legandary singer.
She became increasingly difficult to work with and started getting dropped from television performances including the The 72nd Annual Academy Awards in 2000 and due to drugs her voice started to fail her.
