Transcript of The Princess Bride Plot Sequence

Introduction
Climax
Westley, Inigo, and Fezzik attack Humperdinck's castle to rescue Buttercup.
Falling Action
Inigo kills Count Rugen, and Westley rescues Buttercup.
Rising Action
Westley is presumed dead after his ship is captured by a pirate. Buttercup is soon after betrothed to Prince Humperdinck.

The Princess Bride Plot Sequence
Resolution
Inigo, Fezzik, Westley, and Buttercup escape from the castle by horse, but what happens to them is up to the reader to decide.
At the beginning of the story, Westley and Buttercup find out they are in love with one another, and they become inseparable.
Rising Action
Buttercup is captured by Vizzini, Fezzik, and Inigo, but is rescued by Westley.
Rising Action
Westley and Buttercup are separated, and Westley dies. He is then brought back to life by Inigo and Fezzik.

I thought you
were dead!
Not even death
could keep us
apart.
Hello. My name is
Inigo Montoya. You
killed my father;
prepare to die!
I thought you
had left me.
I was kept prisoner
by the Prince.
