twice a year. In Medellin,
the weather is known

In Colombia it is usually
13- 30 degrees Celsius. Festivals Iberoamerican Theatre Festival. Bogota, in theatrical venues or in the streets. It is in March or April, every two years. Carnaval de Barranquilla is Colombia's most important folklore celebration, one of the biggest carnivals in the world. It takes place in Barranquilla, in Febuary. The streets are VERY busy at this time. They dress up in costumes and have music and dance. The carnival's slogan is: Who lives it, is who enjoys it (Quien lo vive, es quien lo goza). C U L T U R E ! Around 1/5th of all the plant species that exist on Earth, including the world´s largest variety of orchids (3,500) are in Colombia. Colombia has the world´s most poisonous frog, which can kill 15,000 humans with one drop of its poison, and ten to 20 at a time. It's name is the Golden dart frog. 3000 out of the 14000 species of butterflies are found in Colombia, over 150 different types of commercial fruits. Colombia has the world´s second largest variety of amphibians and third largest variety of reptiles. There is the largest variety of bird species in the world, 1754 in total – more than in Europe and North America… combined. Colombia has two oceans surrounding it: The pacific ocean and the caribbean sea. Lastly, there is the tallest palm tree in the world, the Quindio Wax palm, also the National Tree of Colombia.
