seasons. Although they
do have rainy season
and dry season, each
twice a year. In Medellin,
the weather is known
to be like eternal spring!
In Colombia it is usually
13- 30 degrees Celsius. Festivals Iberoamerican Theatre Festival. Bogota, in theatrical venues or in the streets. It is in March or April, every two years. Usually runs for 17 days. there are close to 600 performances, such as classical drama, puppetry and dance. Rock al Parque! Bogota in city parks. It's usually in May. They invite international and local bands that play: Punk, death metal, reggae and electronica. Annual flower festival. It's held in Medellin,
and takes place for 10 days in early August.
It has arrays of flowers, parades, music and dance. There's a Silleteros parade, where the local flower farmers parade beautiful flower arrangements on their backs. The stunning orchid exhibition at the Botanical Gardens is very impressive. This is a very popular festival. And many more... Carnaval de Barranquilla is Colombia's most important folklore celebration, one of the biggest carnivals in the world. It takes place in Barranquilla, in Febuary. The streets are VERY busy at this time. They dress up in costumes and have music and dance. The carnival's slogan is: Who lives it, is who enjoys it (Quien lo vive, es quien lo goza). C U L T U R E ! Colombia is the Colombian peso.

HISTORY This hat is called the sombrero vueltiado, its a traditional hat from Colombia and one of its symbols. It is made out of cañaflecha. This hat is one of the types of the hat, here is another type: This is the beautiful dress, it's especially made for dancing the Cumbia. All the skirts don't look the same, they have different colorful patterns. Colombia has many biomes. Humid Rainforests, baking deserts. Vast savannas, sandy beaches. And many, many, many more... R R A N D O M F A C T s The capital of Colombia is Bogota and Colombia is Located in the North of South America. Neighbouring countries of Colombia are Ecuador, Panama, Venezuela, Peru and Brazil. Around 1/5th of all the plant species that exist on Earth, including the world´s largest variety of orchids (3,500) are in Colombia. Colombia has the world´s most poisonous frog, which can kill 15,000 humans with one drop of its poison, and ten to 20 at a time. It's name is the Golden dart frog. 3000 out of the 14000 species of butterflies are found in Colombia, over 150 different types of commercial fruits. Colombia has the world´s second largest variety of amphibians and third largest variety of reptiles. There is the largest variety of bird species in the world, 1754 in total – more than in Europe and North America… combined. Colombia has two oceans surrounding it: The pacific ocean and the caribbean sea. Lastly, there is the tallest palm tree in the world, the Quindio Wax palm, also the National Tree of Colombia.
