The University of West Georgia Edmodo: A Global Platform for the 21st Century Learning What on Earth is Edmodo? As we all know, most teens are not interested in taking notes in class, copying down assignments, and doing their work in the traditional manner in which most of us where taught. 21st Century Learners are interested in texting friends, posting pictures, watching videos, playing video games, chatting on-line using social media such as Facebook. The Pew Internet Project noted that 87% of all 12 to 17 year olds use the Internet. (Rainie &Hitlin, 2005) Most students like to learn with a friend Edmodo allows students to collaborate Engage them in a format that feels fun and familar to them by integrating Edmodo into your classroom. So how do we accomodate as teachers to meet the needs of 21st Century learners? Ever heard of Facebook?
