The purpose for my experiment was to see how long it takes for different liquids to evaporate. I believe my science experiment was another way to gain knowledge on evaporation and to learn something new. My hypothesis was that the nail polish remover evaporated the fastest because it contained acetone and it turned out to be correct. The independent variables were the different liquids used, and the rates of evaporation were the dependent variable. The controlled variables were the amount of liquid poured into each graduated cylinder, how long the liquids were left out, and where they were placed. When I was setting up my experiment I poured 200mL of each liquid into the graduated cylinders. I let them sit at room temperature and recorded the measurement change every other day for two weeks. The results of my experiment ended with the nail polish remover evaporating the fastest, just as I predicted. The water ended in second place, the orange juice was in third, and the rubbing alcohol evaporated the slowest. My experiment worked out very well and I would do it again, but I would change the location to a colder or warmer environment. This experiment provided people with information on how fast certain liquids evaporated and which liquids evaporated at the same rate. The results of my experiment gave scientific information of which liquid evaporates the fastest and slowest at room temperature.

Abstract
Do Liquids Evaporate at the same Rate?
The reason for my experiment is to see how long it takes for different liquids to evaporate. I chose this project because I thought it would be interesting to see the difference in the amount of liquid in each container after a few days or a week. This project will allow me to take the place of a scientist by taking notes and recording information in a notebook or journal. I believe that my science fair project will be another way to gain knowledge on evaporation and to learn something new.

Introduction
The independent variable is the different liquids I am using. The dependent variable is the rate of evaporation. The controlled variable is the amount of liquid poured into each graduated cylinder, how long the liquids are left out, and where they are going to be placed.
Variables
1 bottle of rubbing alcohol
1 bottle of nail polish remover
1 bottle of water
4 graduated cylinders with measurements
Camera
Pen and notebook for recording information
Materials
1. Place the four graduated cylinders on a flat surface
2. Pour 200mL of each liquid in a different graduated cylinder.
3. Let the liquids sit at room tempeture
Procedure
On the first day, each liquid was at 200mL. The water evaporated to 196 on the first day and then to 194, 190,188,184, 182, 180, 178, 174, and 172 on the other days. The rubbing alcohol evaporated from 198, to 196, 192, 190, 188, 186, 184, 182, 180, and, 178. The nail polish remover evaporated to 186, 176, 166, 156, 146, 138, 132, 124, 118, and, 112. The orange juice evaporated first to 196 to 194, 192, 190, 186, 184, 182, 180, 178, and, 176.On the 3rd check the orange juice separated into pulp and water. On the 6th check the orange juice started turning brown. In the end the nail polish remover had evaporated the quickest then the water, orange juice and last, the rubbing alcohol
Results
Do Liquids Evaporate at the same rate? My results shows that some liquids evaporate much faster than others. My hypothesis was that the nail polish remover would evaporate the fastest and it was correct. I had checked on my liquids every other day and the second time I checked on them the nail polish remover had dropped the most. I was also expecting for the rubbing alcohol to be the second fastest but is was actually the slowest. The second fastest to evaporate was the water and third was the orange juice. If I were to do this experiment again I would change the location of the cylinders; maybe in a colder environment or in direct sunlight.
