It was designed by Tom Wright and Rick Gregory of WS Atkins.
The construction of the island began in 1994, in 1995 started the construction of the Hotel and it was completed in 1999.
Tom Wright said that the client wanted an iconic statement like the Opera House in Australia, the Eiffel Tower in France and the Big Ben in England

Is an emirate in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) federation. The main city of the emirate is also called Dubai. The emirate is located on the southeast coast of the Persian Gulf and is one of the seven emirates that make up the country. It has the largest population in the UAE (2,106,177) and the second-largest land territory (4,114 km2) after the capital, Abu Dhabi.
On 28 March 2011, Alain "Spiderman" Robert scaled the outside of Burj Khalifa, he made it in six hours. Robert, usually climbs in free solo style, took the unusual step of using a rope and harness for the climb
A man described as "an Asian in his mid-30s" who worked at one of the companies in the tower, committed suicide on 10 May 2011 by jumping from the 147th floor. He fell 39 floors, landing on a deck on the 108th floor.
Situated in front of the world's tallest building, Dubai Tower, The Dubai Fountain is a thirty-two-acre lake with five rings of high-powered water jets leaping over 140 meters into the air, visible from more than 20 miles away-setting the world record for the Largest Performing Fountain.

It was designed by WET Design, the California-based company responsible for the fountains at the Bellagio Hotel Lake in Las Vegas. Illuminated by 6,600 lights and 25 colored projectors, it is 275 m (902 ft) long and shoots water up to 500 ft (152.4 m) into the air accompanied by a range of classical to contemporary Arabic and world music. It was built at a cost of (US$ 218 million).

Biggest fireworks show
The 6-minute extravaganza included 500,000 fireworks from 400 firing locations, all synchronized by 100 computers from stations across the city
More than 200 expert technicians put in 5,000 hours of work to make sure the show went well.
An estimated 1.7 million attended the event, while scores more watched via livestream.
"The show of fireworks created an artificial 'sunrise' along the seafront, with the highest fireworks reaching more than one kilometer in height,"
reads a description from Guinness World Records, whose panel of judges confirmed the world record. "Dubai's attempt had enough fireworks launched within the first minute of the display alone to surpass the previous record."

OUR Opinion

We chose Dubai because we believe every records have shown that when they do something they always surpass themselves and the whole world. They don't stay in the basics, they see beyond and do it a thousand times better.
