Transcript of Cake Face
Make up is a tool that helps give confidence. Some people may depend on make up to a point where they hide behind it. We believe that it shouldn't be used to change your features but instead used to accentuate your natural beauty.
To achieve this, we tailored the make up style according to the model's facial features and added a touch of moisturizer and foundation rather than using a "set look" to give them flawless skin to match an equally flawless person.

Cake Face :
One who wears excessive amounts of make up (specifically foundation and cover-up) making it look like you can scoop or scrape it off their face with a fork (like eating cake).
I wanted to be a part of this project because I have an interest in makeup and photography. I have little experience using both so working with Rachel and Anisha really helped me grasp the basics. I will definitely continue to research and practice applying makeup.
Group Success & Fails:
I took interest in this project because I believe that the idea of self confidence is a very big issue for teenagers in high school and it also gave me an opportunity to practice and utilize my skills and hobbies.

Questions We Asked Ourselves

What we mean by 'Natural'
Sticking to goals
I wanted to be a part of this project because it made me question the morality and purpose of makeup. I was also interested in whole process of creating a magazine.
Although wearing makeup is not 'natural', we refer to our look as 'natural' because the purpose of the makeup is to enhance rather than change. Natural makeup gives the user a clean face and erases blemishes or any areas they are self-conscious about.
