Aim at:
Teaching for the future - THE FUTURE IS NOW!
Advocate and influence
Resolve Conflicts and negotiate
face-to-face or virtually
Guide others & lead
Which items will the Ss get familiarized with and be able to reproduce freely by the end of the lesson? Are these targets up to the Ss level of readiness? (Think of the Ss profile)
Which tasks will facilitate the passing on and acquisition of knowledge? Which tools (ICT and/other) will boost this process?
Are you comoogling?

Some Facts:
'While theory is important, it's the ability to deal with real-world situations and know local policy, curricula, and culture that helps teachers to succeed.'
'Half of all new educators abandon the profession within five years, costing schools an estimated $2.6 billion annually and leaving children in the neediest areas with the highest number of inexperienced teachers.'
'..to learn another language is to enter a new culture..'

'The ability to communicate in a language other than one’s own enables students to grow academically and personally.'

A student’s performance depends on such factors as the:
• “age of the learner,
• scheduling patterns of the language program,
• methodology employed,
• abilities and interests of the instructor,
• scope and sequence of the language program,
• abilities and interests of the learner,
• availability and use of technology,
• physical location and setup of the facilities provided for learning,
• authenticity of the cultural environment and materials, and
• exposure to native speakers and foreign travel”
(Articulation and Achievement 1996, 18–19).

It is also important to work toward maintaining the motivational level of the class. You can do this by asking yourself questions like the following:
J Do I vary the way I teach my lessons?
J Do I include activities that are there primarily to maintain motivation (for example, songs and language games)?
J Can I find ways of making my tasks more interesting (for example, by presenting a reading text as a jigsaw reading)?
J Can I increase the personal value of my lesson to my learners (for example, by adapting an activity so that it centers on the students’ lives rather than on characters in the textbook)?
J Can I build in more opportunities for success in my lessons (for example, by choosing activities that challenge but do not frustrate learners)?
Describe some ways in which you seek to develop a positive motivation toward language learning during your lessons.
