Photographer Career Analysis: Once a photographer spots the "perfect shot", they will do almost anything to aquire it; especially wedding photographers. Job Responsibilities:

Camera gear maintenance
Camera gear updating as technology requires to stay competitive
Lighting setup
Product/model preparation and placement
Negotiating with art directors, stylists, and other professionals involved
Maintaining project and ongoing budgets
Model selection
Keeping updated on newest technology and method in the industry
Knowledge of all types of photography equipment
Location selection and setup
Acquiring and positioning props for shoots
Planning and implementation of background/backdrop
Maintaining all administrative aspects-billing and accounting
Supervision of assistants
Negotiation with clients and customer service
Advertising and promoting for new client work
Editing and developing photos online or in a dark room
Renting space for photo shoots
Hiring models and assistants

Salaried Photgraphers- Salary Range:

Median- $29,440 in May 2008
Lowest 10%- less than $16,920
Highest 10%- more than $ 63, 430
Middle 50%- between $20,620 and $43,530

Employment of photographers is expected to increase as fast as the average for all occupations through 2018. Marissa Powers Photographer Evolution Wedding Photographer Education requirements:

Earn a High School Diploma; students with an interest in photogrsphy are recommended to enroll in art classes and sign-up for after-school activites that involve taking pictures.

Professional: Begin with training to learn the technical basics of photography.

Earn a Bachelor's Degree; not completely required but recommended for those who wish to enter the careers of photojournalism or scientific photography.

Become an Assistant. Learning firsthand from someone with experience in the feild will better your career.

Continue to develop skills. Nobody knows everything. Learn what you can, while you can..

In digital photography it is used when editing or taking the picture; an example could be changing pixels or angles needed for a picture.

In manual film cameras math is needed much more like when mixing chemicals you need to know the ratio of chemicals to development time and temperature can be a factor also. The aperture on a camera (controls the amount of light let on to the film to capture the image) and shutter time (how long the light is let on to the film) has to be determined. All mostly has to do with times on exposure and chemical ratios. Communications:

A photographer would have to speak withand understand what a customer wants either face-to-face, on the phone, or through e-mail.
