Transcript of Continued Probation

Continued Probation: Informational Presentation Continued probation occurs when your CUMULATIVE (overall) GPA is below a 2.0 for a second semester. What IS Continued Probation? A hold has been placed on your account restricting you from adding or dropping classes. What happens now? If your SEMESTER gpa was BELOW a 2.0, you will need to complete the Academic Success Probation Workshop (see http://www.uvu.edu/academicstandards/students/probationworkshopinfo.html ). And then schedule a meeting with the Academic Standards Counselor. What do I need to do? GPA<2.0 If your semester GPA is OVER 2.0, then you will just need to meet with the Academic Standards Counselor to discuss an academic plan for success. GPA>2.0 Another requirements for Continued Probation is to complete a grade check ONCE during the semester. This normally occurs before midterms. You simply take a form around to all your teachers and get grade estimates. Then turn it into the Academic Standards Counselor. You will get a reminder email. Grade Check Please be aware that if you get below a 2.0 for your SEMESTER GPA next semester you will be placed on suspension status. That would require that you sit out a semester and petition to return. MOST Importantly Either email morris.havea@uvu.edu or call 801-863-8075 to set up an appointment to talk with the Academic Standards Counselor, Morris Havea.

Still curious about Suspension? Go to the following link to see a workshop about the process. http://prezi.com/erkxbz_pjgmw/suspension-workshop/ What next? The work of the Academic Standards Office is to assist students in discovering and accessing the personal or college resources that will allow them to reach their full potential.
