History
In the 15th century the
INCAS
emerged, an empire chosen by gods and considered one of the
GREATEST CIVILIZATIONS
of all times.
Regions
Due to the 3 regions, Peru has a large variety of climates, including 28 of 32 world climates.
Fauna
Because of its wide geographical range and different altitudes and climates, Peru has some of the greatest biodiversity in the world.
Cuisine
Peruvian gastronomy is a unique fusion. It combines Pre-Inca and Inca staples and food with the Spanish, Basque, African, Asian and French, Italian and British cuisine which immigrants brought with them.

Cotahuasi Canyon is 3,535 meters deep and is considered the deepest canyon in the world.
Lake Titicaca is the highest navigable lake in the world, with a surface elevation of 3,812 meters.
The Amazon River is the largest river by discharge of water in the world. Its length is about 6,400 km and is the second longest river in the world after the Nile River in Egypt.
The Nazca Lines are a collection of geoglyphs in the southern desert of Peru. There are about 300 figures.
Machu Picchu was the most magnificent community the Incas built and is one of the new 7 Wonders of
the World.

"Festejo"
Its music has African roots.
"Scissors dance"
Dance from the south-central Andes of Peru. The dancers do explicit moves and challenging steps.
"Marinera"
A graceful couple's dance that uses handkerchiefs as props.
"Ayahuasca"
It is believed that this ritual of Amazonian Peru can help reach a level of spiritual awareness.
