P4 – Describe The Benefits And Opportunities Of Using Internet Marketing Within The Marketing Mix of A Selected Business
Done By Deema Alkhaldi
People
Tesco's benefits of using Internet Marketing:

Since Tesco is an e-commerce business, it does not have employees who work directly with customers. Many customers relate the business with its customer service; therefore, even though Tesco's customer service does not involve having a physical contact with the customer, there are other ways to illustrate good customer service. Tesco has various social media networks that customers can access in order to ask questions and receive feedback. Furthermore, Tesco has separate telephone lines for each of its major departments, so tat customers can be given full attention and time when requesting help. All of this helps Tesco implement good customer service, which would enhance their reputation and image among people.

Tesco's Opportunities:

With Tesco having to provide quality customer service, it is gaining the opportunity to improve its business's efficiency and ensure that satisfactory service is being provided for the customers, as this would ultimately ensure growth of the market, sales, and revenue.
Physical Environment
Tesco's benefits of using Internet marketing:

Since Tesco operates its business online, where they sell and ship their products, Tesco would be reducing the need for customers to visit their brick-and-mortar, which means that customers would bot need to operate their vehicles, as it can cause pollution and other environmental health issues. Also, Tesco would not need to use their own vehicle to deliver products to customers.

Tesco's Opportunities:

By having Tesco substitute to online products that would be beneficial to the environment, as mentioned above, Tesco would actually be increasing sales, as shopping online is more convenient to most customers, as the e-commerce is available 24 hours a day. Tesco would be making more profit, as they would need to charge for the shipment of products, where it would not have been necessary to do in a brick-and-mortar.
Introduction
The business that I will be evaluating for this task is Tesco.

Tesco's benefits of using Internet marketing:

Since Tesco operates on the Internet, it can easily have access to more people than in real life, therefore, Tesco can effectively promote their business at a relatively lower cost than in their brick-and-mortar business. Tesco can use social media networks to advertise their business and promote the products and services they offer, such as a wide variety of products and international shipment of orders.

Tesco's Opportunities:

Tesco has the opportunity to access a wider market and gain more customers, as they would be advertising their business using various sources of social media and technology. Therefore, people would familiarize themselves with Tesco's status and remember their logo, which would help them associate the business with quality.

Tesco's benefits of using Internet Marketing:

The price of Tesco's products illustrates its value and therefore, Tesco has complete control of deciding what type of message it aims to send its customers about their products depending on the price they choose. In terms of groceries, Tesco may decide to initially price the goods at a relatively high price, as the products' life-cycle increases, Tesco may decide to reduce the price, as this would indicate to the customers the value of the product. However, in terms of technology, Tesco would set a fixed price on their electronics to express the value of the products, as they are of high quality and expensive. (Roslyn Frenz, Demand Media)

Tesco's opportunities:

In term of groceries, Tesco has the opportunity to sell its products immediately. One case that the goods would sell is that customers would want to purchase products as soon as they are in stock to maximise its life-cycle capacity, as they would also keep in consideration the delivery time. Therefore, customers would be willing to purchase products at its initial price. On the other hand, some customers would also be willing to purchase products that are close to the end of their life-cycle, as they would be really cheap, because Tesco is trying to get rid of the products. Therefore, either way, Tesco would be increasing their profit margins and number of sales.
Product
Tesco's benefits of using Internet marketing:

With Tesco operating online, it has the benefit of appealing to many more customers than it would be in a brick-and-mortar. Tesco is able to diversify their products by offering actual books and e-books that are suitable to use for tablets. Having a variety of products would be a benefit s it would suit different type of customers' interest and provide them with choices, rather than limiting it with certain products. Many customers who shop online prefer to have the advantage of paying online for products, as it is easier and faster than having to go to a store and purchase the same product, when they can buy it without having to leave their house.
Therefore, Tesco would be gaining more customers and increasing its sales and profits, as they would also have to charge for shipment costs.

Tesco's Opportunities:

Tesco has the opportunity to develop and expand their range of products, as customers who shop online are most likely willing to purchase products that are technology user-friendly. Tesco has introduced mobile services that allow customers to pay online in return for packages that include sata, minutes, and texts. The service is available for a range of mobile phone brands such as Apple, HTC. LG, Samsung, Sony, Microsoft, and more. Therefore, Tesco would also be expanding its market share as well as increasing sales from their existing customers by introducing online products and services.
Process
Tesco's benefits of using Internet marketing:

Tesco's trade and transaction when operating online has become much simpler and cost effective than dealing in a brick-and-mortar. The Internet has enables the process of customers' purchase at Tesco to be easier, as a database mainly does the job of actual employees. Therefore, Tesco would be saving a lot of money by using technology rather than hiring multiple employees.

Tesco's Opportunities:

Tesco used the opportunity to enhance the payment process online for customers by having them register for account, which stores and saves their location and payment information. This makes it easier for when customers check out, as they can simply pay without having to enter all their information each time they make a purchase. This is especially useful for customers who shop regularly for groceries. This is an advantage for Tesco, as it encourages customers to purchase from them, as they know that the purchasing process if very easy and simple.
Place
Tesco's benefits of using Internet marketing:

Since Tesco is an e-commerce business, it does not need to pay for the electricity, water, and rental costs that would be necessary in a brick-and-mortar. Tesco would be saving a lot of money, as the only physical place where the would need is a warehouse, which is also used for their brick-and-mortar. Therefore, for Tesco, operating an online business if very cost effective. (Mehdi Naimi, 2011)

Tesco's Opportunities:

Tesco has the opportunity and the money ro invest in order to improve their website and make it up-to date in terms of accessibility. This would make shopping online for customers much more enjoyable, easier, and convenient; which would encourage customers to shop online, generating Tesco more sales and gaining a broader market share.
