Transcript of What is a Practical Education

What is a Practical Education? By: Donald M. Murray Text to Self Connection I know what it’s like to be under prepared when it comes to education. Growing up I suffer from ADHD and I didn’t get the help I needed until I was in the 5th grade. I remember the frustration and sense of helplessness as I quickly fell behind the rest of my class. Just as Murray talks about in his writing I was one of those student that just slid by.
Tex-to-Text Connection Naruto by Masashi Kishimoto reminds me of Murray's writing because in this story it shows a boy who was given the basic knowledge to prepare him for life but instead of trying to reinforce good learning habits his teachers simply dismissed him as a slacker, someone who would never amount to anything and he to was unprepared for the trials life had in store for him.
Text-to-World Conection Over 5.2 Million children between the ages of 3-17 in the world suffer from ADHD, that is 8.4% of all children in that age range. 11.2% are boys and 5.5% are girls. This is a problem that many don’t eve know about, and has only recently been addressed by the department of education.
