Physics Of Cheerleading
Transcript of Physics Of Cheerleading
Newton's first law
Newton's First law states that an object at rest stays at rest unless a force acts on it. It also says that things in motion stay in motion until they are moved. An example of this with Cheerleading is when a flyer is in the air at a half, and then is moved at a hitch or a full.
Newton's Second Law
Newton's second law says that an object's acceleration depends on the mass of the object and the amount of force on it. With cheerleading, this happens when a stunt is doing a basket toss and when doing a jump.
Newton"s Third Law
Newton's third law says that every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Forces have actions, and forces come in pairs. In cheerleading this happens with a stunt and the action force with the flyers foot on the bases hands, and the reaction force is with the bases hands.
Gravity And Friction
When you do a jump or pop from a stunt, gravity brings you back down. Friction occurs whenever you touch the mat or when you are in a stunt, the friction of the flyers foot on the base's hands is where the friction occurs.
The advances in technology with Cheerleading have changed dramatically over the years. The right cheerleading shoes can help you have more advanced and safer stunts, and can help with tumbling, and jumps. Also, Stunt stands are a piece of equipment that can help a flyer balance to make stunts easier and safer for the whole stunt group.
Is Cheerleading a real sport?
Many people have been questioning whether cheerleading is a real sport, Many people that it is a sport, but some disagree. According to "The Top Tens List,'' Cheerleading was ranked number one for the most dangerous sport. It clearly states that cheerleading includes everything the definition of a sport is.. The second dangerous sport is horseback riding, third is bull riding, and fourth is gymnastics fifth is football.
