Creativity in the ancient world:
Consequences:
creativity is a divine attendant spirit
the spirit comes from a distant and unknowable source
a kind of daemon (Greece)
a kind of genius which lives in the walls (Rome)
the spirit assists the artist with his work
the result is not the achievement of the artist
this spirit protects the artists from the results of their work
the efforts belong the spirit
the fiascoes are the spirit's faults
