Hypothesis
The Bath and Body Works soap will work the best out of all of them.
Problem
Which hand sanitizer or soap gets rid of the most germs?
Introduction
Procedure
1. Gather all materials
2. Boil water and mix boiled water and agar nutrient together.
3. Let solution harden for an hour.
3. Pour water and agar solution into individual petri dishes.
4. Add a drop of milk into each dish, to introduce bacteria.
5. Put a drop of the hand sanitizer/soap in the center of the milk.
6. Wait for bacteria to grow.
7. Record the data.
Materials
For our experiment
we will be using:
Purell
Germ-X
Bath and Body Works hand sanitizer
Soft Soap
Dial
Bath and Body Works Soap
When you finish eating, or using the bathroom, you always use hand sanitizer and soap. But do they really get rid of all the germs on your hand? Well, in our experiment, we will be testing just that, using many well-known and popular soaps and hand sanitizers.

Conclusion
At the end of our experiment, we discovered that our hypothesis was incorrect. Instead of the Bath and Body Works Soap working the best, the Dial soap worked the best. The worst solution was Purell. We found out that placing germs into light actually kills them, and that Purell, even though it is most likely the most popular hand sanitizer, it is not that effective, and that you should always listen to mom and wash your hands with soap and water.
Variables
Controlled- The germs
Independent- The growth of the germs and the different hand sanitizers we put.
Dependent- The amount of each hand sanitizer/soap we put in each petri dish.
