Advertising: Method of... well... advertisement *Inspired by a drink from Thailand called "Krating Daeng"
This drink was invented and owned by Chaleo Yoovidhya. *An Austrian entrepreneur named Dietrich Mateschitz first tried the drink when visiting Thailand on a business trip. *The two merged, each investing $500,000 for a new reformed recipe to launch in Europe in 1987 with a different taste to satisfy the new culture's taste. Reformed Version Original Version The silver and bottled versions had significantly less sugar and caffeine, while the gold can has the equivalence of the reformed versions. These are the European versions introduced in 1987. The smallest can has the caffeine equivalence of one cup of coffee. The biggest is about twice as much. *Unlike the original version, the reformed version is carbonated. The original was like drinking iced tea, no carbonation. Old version was immensely popular amongst the working class of Thailand, much like it is with us today. He found that the drink cured his jet lag, and realized that with anew flavor, it could be popularized in other countries as well as Thailand. Each held a 49% share of the company, with the final 2 % going to Chaleo's son Chalerm, since Chaleo pioneered the original idea for the drink. Chaleo (left) and Dietrich (right) Chaleo passed away on March 17, 2012 *In 1987, the product was launched in Austria, Dietrich's home land. *The company went international in 1992, spreading to Hungary and Slovenia. *First showed up in America in 1997, (my birth year) when business started booming *By 2008, Red Bull had a net worth of 4 Billion dollars Taste Test Everyone gets to try some Red Bull today.
