Sugar is a sweet mineral that your body burns to produce energy to your body. (And is found in many Breakfast cereals) Sugars are good and others are bad, it is found in fruits, vegetables, grains and many other food groups Sugar (Close up) Unfortunately too much sugar is bad for you and can make you fat. Your body does not need a lot of sugar, and food like breakfast cereal and candy has lot's of sugar. Fiber Fiber is food that is hard to digest and helps your digestion, as it passes through your body, it is also known as roughage. Fiber is good for your body, it will help keep you fit. Fiber helps you maintain a healthy weight and lowers risk for diseases Food High in Fiber: Corn, Wheat, Beans, etc. SO... Eat lot's of Fiber and limit the amount of sugar you eat to maintain good health. Nutriti n Unfortunately cereal is not a very balanced meal and it alone is not very good for you We will show you what a good healthy Breakfast looks like. But first we will show you the components of a healthy breakfast. Carbohydrates Grains have a sugar in them called carbohydrates, Carbohydrates are a main source of energy for people Carbohydrates can be found in grains such wheat, oats etc.

Foods with carbohydrates: Bread, oatmeal, pastries (Also known as Carbohydrates) Carbohydrates help keep you active Carbohydrates will allow you to maintain a high level of activity like this Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. Dairy Dairy is another vital part of your nutrition, it have calcium and vitamin D in it. Calcium and Vitamin D makes your Bones Strong and helps build them Sources of calcium: Cheese, Milk, Yogurt Fruits Fruits are vital to a good diet, they contain many important vitamins such as Vitamin C, and help keep you from getting sick. Fruits should always be part of your diet they provide many vitamins such vitamin C which boosts your immune system. Fruit high in Vitamin C: Kiwis, Oranges Strawberries Vegetables Like Fruits, Vegetables should be part of your everyday diet, they contain important vitamins and minerals Proteins Veggies contain important minerals such as sodium, iron, zinc, potassium, and also a good source of fiber, things that help keep your body running. Protein is found in Meats, Legumes (Beans), and nuts Your body uses protein to build muscle, and tissue. It makes you strong. Servings (Just as a rough estimate) Servings Per Day (Children):
-Fruits: 2-4
-Grains: 5
-Veggies: 3-5
-Dairy: 2-3
-Proteins: 2-3 An Ideal healthy Breakfast Carbohydrates:
Oatmeal or Toast or Potatoes Protein: Eggs or Sausage Fruit: Oranges or Strawberries or Pineapple Veggies: Tomatoes, Spinach, Mushrooms Dairy: Cheese, Yogurt, Milk The End
