I like to explain to you the problem the way I see it, the changes I suggest to avoid making the same mistake again. and Striking Lyrics Surprises Her songs are largely based on heartbreak due to personal experiences she had with relationships. It sold y r S w f t Taylor Swift writes songs that her audience can relate to. Most of her songs are based on relationships and breakups—issues that many adolescents deal with. Teenagers are more likely to listen to music that they can connect to. Many musicians write love songs. What makes Taylor Swift's music stand out? Taylor Swift is known for her country genre of music. However, it's a modern type of country music. This is a distinctive quality that makes her stand out among thousands of singers. I was surprised when I discovered that Taylor Swift traded in her signature country sound for a more pop sound in Red. She has received criticism for this because many of her fans feel disappointed that she has adopted a more mainstream sound. a) She showed that she is capable of more than just country music. Variety is good. Now it’s big black cars, and Riviera views,
And your lover in the foyer doesn’t even know you
And your secrets end up splashed on the news front page.
And they tell you that you’re lucky.
But you’re so confused,
Cause you don’t feel pretty, you just feel used.
And all the young things line up to take your place.
Another name goes up in lights. You wonder if you’ll make it out alive.
And they’ll tell you now, you’re the lucky one. These lyrics were striking because they're not about love and relationships, like a typical Taylor Swift song would be about. Many people want fame and fortune, but these lyrics suggest that just because someone has fame and fortune, it doesn't mean that they're lucky nor does it mean that they're living the best life possible. This deep meaning offers the chance for the audience to reflect on the negative aspects of fame. Loving him is like driving a new Maserati down a dead-end street,
Faster than the wind, passionate as sin, ending so suddenly.
Loving him is like trying to change your mind once you're already flying through the free fall.
Like the colors in autumn, so bright just before they lose it all.
Losing him was blue like I'd never known,
Missing him was dark grey all alone.
Forgetting him was like trying to know somebody you never met,
But loving him was red. "When I was coming up with the name for this album it seemed crazy because it was really simple. I wrote a song called ‘Red’ and thinking about what that song means to me and all the different emotions on this album—they’re all pretty much about the tumultuous, crazy, insane, intense, semi-toxic relationships I’ve experienced in the last two years and all those emotions fanning from intense love, intense frustration, intense jealousy, confusion, all of that in my mind, all those emotions are red. There’s nothing in between, there’s nothing beige about those feelings and so I called my record that."
- Taylor Swift I like this media text because as a teenager, I am able to relate to the themes in the text. In addition, these themes are played out in an upbeat tune that captures my attention.
