is it's ok to be different because at the end of the book Tally
had changed her perspective. She went from counting down
the days til her surgery to destroying her tracker in hopes to
leaving her world behind. At first Tally had disagreed with
Shay about ever leaving their city. Once she was forced to
go to Smoke, she realized Smoke wasn't so bad of a place. After all things said she had came to the conclusions that
it's ok to be different, not everyone has to be a Pretty. Quotes "In a world of extreme beauty, anyone normal is
ugly" (Front cover)
“We're not freaks, Tally. We're normal. We may not be gorgeous, but at least we're not hyped-up Barbie dolls.” (Page 82)
“Your personality - the real you inside - was the price of beauty.” (Page 406) Its ok to be you Who are you?
Are you true to yourself?
To be like everyone else?
Growing up is about,
Discovering our unique style,
Not about following the crowd.
Why try to fit in?
Why not be yourself?
Because your scared of being teased,
And laughed at.
We all want to be liked
We want to make the best,
But does that mean following the rest?
Its ok to be different,
Its ok to be something new,
Its ok because we're all human,
It's ok to be you! Photo Response This photo of pink tulips and one red
tulip is symbolizing difference. One
red/white tulip compared to a whole
bunch of pink tulips. Is in relation to my
story of being different. It is an ok thing
to be unique instead of fitting into the
crowd. Which is what Tally realizes at
the end of "Uglies". That it is ok to be an
ugly or different than like all the other
pretties. Scott Westerfeld 425 Pages By: Victoria Valenzuela By: Becky Mullins Becky Mullins. Its ok to be you. February 2012.
