Facts About Leonardo Di Vinci
Inventor, painter, sculptor, musician, architect and draftsmen all in one? That all adds up to one man, Leonardo Di Vinci! He first dicovered his amazing talents at the age of 9. A peasant in his village made a shield & asked him to paint something on it. Leonardo painted a fire breathing dragon on the shield which was so terrifying that it had to be sold. With the money they earned, they bought a shield with cupids arrow on it. Soon after Leonardo started to paint better paintings like the Mona Lisa and The Last Supper and invent better things like the triple barreled cannon, the parachute & the tank.

Leonardos Appearance
When Leonardo was young he had short light brown hair, bright blue eyes, thick brown eye brows, a thin nose and very light lips. As an older man, Leonardo drew a self-portrait of himself in red chalk. He drew himself bald at the top of his head, then long white hair connecting to his long beard. As an older man Leonardo had thick eyebrows, deep set eyes and a thick nose.
Leonardo's Art Work
Leonardo has painted, sculpted, written and invented may pieces of art, many sold for billions of dollars. Although we can't state all of Leonardo's work, we will tell about his most famous art pieces. The Last Supper- The Last Supper was one of Leonardo's earlier paintings which took him 4 years to complete! Leonardo started this AMAZING piece of art in 1494 and finished in 1498.
The Vitruvian Man-The Vitruvian Man is a drawing created by Leonardo da Vinci in 1490. The drawing was drawn by pen and ink, then washedover with metalpoint.

Leonardo's death cam in May, when he was only 67. BUT... I hope you have learned that Leonardo Di Ser Piero Da Vinci was an AMAZING man.

The Mona Lisa
The Mona Lisa- The Mona Lisa is a half-length portrait of a woman by the Italian artist Leonardo da Vinci, which has been acclaimed as "the best known, the most visited, the most written about, the most sung about, the most parodied work of art in the world. The Mona Lisa was going to be sold for $100 million dollars, but was stolen on 21 August 1911 from Salon Carré, where the Mona Lisa had been on display for 5 years.
