1940's SWING Swing dance" is a group dance that developed concurrently with the swing style of jazz music in the 1920s, '30s '40s and '50s Swing Dance What is Swing ? The best known of these dances is the Lindy Hop !!! FASHION !!! Bobby Socks

Above the knee dresses Events/ Attitudes Affecting the Society and Dance of the Decade Japenese first attacked Australia- 19 February 1942
2 weeks later more aircraft attacked Broome- Western Australia (killed 70 people)
31 May- war came to east coast- Japenese submarines entered Sydney Harbour
