Long Term Changes
Short and Long Term Environmental Changes
Short Term Changes
A short-term environmental change is drought, smog, flooding, volcanic eruption, blizzards, and pollution. This could happen in any of the food webs.
These environmental changes may effect how organisms in the area will end up having to have to adapt to their environment so that they can continue to live there and not die off.
Long-term environmental changes are... ice age, deforestation, urbanization, Earth’s orbit, Sun’s intensity, Global Warming, radioactive waste/pollution, and extinction of species. All of these environmental changes could happen to any of the food webs.
Environmental changes can/will destroy the environment or cause such significant changes that can result in one of three things:
First effect... cause the organism to have to adpat to the new environment
Second effect...cause the organisms to have to relocate
Third effect...cause the organisms end up going extinct.
Examples of Short Term Changes
Long Term- The Ice Age caused all of those organisms from back then to go extinct.
Short Term- Hurrican only causes organisms to have adapt to the new changes in the enironment.
I Can... identify how short-term and long-term changes affect organisms and traits in subsequent populations
With to many changes they will not have engough time to adaprt to what has been going on around them then most likly it can end with extinction.
If there is only one change then adaptions will end with survival.
