PADev PADev exercises Conventional approaches focus on too short a period
They are nearly always sponsor-driven
They are too narrowly focused on input and output
Projects are evaluated in isolation of wider developments in the region
The opinions of the supposed beneficiaries are largely neglected Not a replacement for more conventional assessment methodologies. PADev is a holistic and participatory approach to assessment of development and change in an area over time.
It recognises context, multiple actors/interventions/stakeholders
