How Does A Computer Connect To The Internet? (I.P)
A computer connects to the internet only by an I.P (Internet Protocol) I.P is the central connection of your computer and the internet, if you don't have an I.P then you can access the internet. So basically it's a bridge.

A computer network or data network is a telecommunications network that allows computers to exchange data. In computer networks, networked computing devices pass data to each other along data connections (network links). Data is transferred in the form of packets. The connections between nodes are established using either cable media or wireless media. The best-known computer network is the Internet.
What is the difference between the Internet, Intranet, and Extranet?
Internet:
Internet is what everyone uses and is very familiar with. The way the "Internet" works is that everyone that uses internet they must know there "I.P" (Internet Protocal) I.P Is the location of your computer, or anything that is connected to the internet. The internet can be used for social media and business. (Example. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snap Chat).

Network computer devices that originate, route and terminate the data are called network nodes. Nodes can include hosts such as personal computers, phones, servers as well as networking hardware. Two such devices are said to be networked together when one device is able to exchange information with the other device, whether or not they have a direct connection to each other.
Intranet:
Intranet is basically what schools or any companies use. So we connect to the Intranet by the internet but what the intranet is for, is that it everyone in the specific area or place, all share the same internet so schools they all have a network in their school.
Also, the internet CANNOT leave the outside world which is basically the general area. You can also think that Intranet is like a metal detector for a secret group, it checks every single person and if their apart of the group then they have access. But if someone doesn't belong in the group, then they can't access in. But the way they know if someone belongs is with the Extranet.
The Extranet is basically the police officer of the internet and intranet. Like I said before it checks the network and who belongs and who can use the internet.
In this presentation I will talk about the two topics of online services and technology nowadays and the networking that changed the world along with what each network is capable of and what it can do.
What is the difference between a standalone machine and one that is connected to a network?
A difference between a stand alone machine and one that is connected is that, a Stand-alone computer is when it does not communicate with any other computer. All it's applications and resources are available on the same computer. Network computer is when it communicates with other computers. It can share resources like disk drives, printers and files
When are the above situations best suited?
The above situations are best suited when you need to either finish up with your work, or when security of your network comes into hand. Reason why security would be best suited is because with the Intranet and Extranet. Like I said before, the Extranet keeps the unknown people from the required area or network out so they cannot access in with the help of the firewall.
Firewall: In computing, a firewall is a network security system that controls the incoming and outgoing network traffic based on an applied rule set.
So with the firewall it can help with security.
Analog (Dial-Up):
Also called dial-up access, an analog Internet connection is both good and quick but it can also be slow. Using a modem connected to your PC, users connect to the Internet when the computer dials a phone number (which is provided by your ISP) and connects to the network. Dial-up is an analog connection because data is sent over an analog, public-switched telephone network.Today, analog has been widely replaced by broadband (Cable and DSL).

DSL (Digital Subscriber Line):
DSL is highly suggestible if your in businesses or a department of computers because DSL increases your bandwidth which is transmitting signal. So with a high bandwidth, you can transmit information and other stuff faster. Also Bandwidth has high frequencies.

Wireless Internet Connecting:
Wireless internet connecting is connection without the use of wires. So if you want to communicate with someone, you can do it over the internet with the wireless connection and not the use of wires. So this can also be good for you if you like to keep a clean area. Along with wireless connection, you must have a modem or a router.
Modem:
A combined device for modulation and demodulation, for example, between the digital data of a computer and the analog signal of a telephone line.
Router:
A router is a device that forwards data packets along networks. A router is connected to at least two networks, commonly through LANs or WANs. Routers are located at gateways, the places where two or more networks connect.

Internet Over Satellite:
A satellite Internet connection is an arrangement in which the upstream (outgoing) and the downstream (incoming) data are sent from, and arrive at, a computer through a satellite.
Each subscriber's hardware includes a satellite dish antenna and a transceiver (transmitter/receiver) that operates with their computers.

Wi-Fi:
Wi-Fi is sort of like Wireless Internet Connecting. Wi-Fi is accessible only within a certain distance and area. For example, if you look at your mobile device, you can see 3 or 4 little lines that are bent upwards, that is your connection strength. So if 2 of your bars light up, then it is an okay strength but if it is a 1. You might not be happy with it. Obviously, when it is 4 it is extremely strong.
Compare three common ISP providers and what they offer.
An Internet service provider (ISP) is an organization that provides services for accessing, using, or participating in the Internet. Internet service providers may be organized in various forms, such as commercial, community-owned, non-profit, or otherwise privately owned.
ISP:
Bell
Bell provides fast internet and now have came out with a new device, Home Hub. The first all-in-one modem with a great connection of Wi-Fi technology, the very best in the world.
Other than that, Bell provides a security services so that all your information can be safe.
Rogers:
Rogers is the Number 1! For Canada's Fastest Internet Service Provider! Rogers has dedicated network paths. So that means that the network is not shared!. Third Party Testing. Rogers is committed to continually testing and optimizing their internet packages are to deliver consistently fast speeds to their customers.
Start
Start offers cable, lower-speed DSL, and higher-speed FTTN connections. (For the uninitiated, FTTN is a DSL connection that offers a shorter connection between your home and the fibre network, in an effort to offer a more reliable signal.) Add $15 a month to cable plans or $10 a month for DSL plans to get unlimited data. (Except for the 150Mbps cable plan, which already gives you 400GB of bandwidth. You can just suck that one up.)
Comparing Internet Providers:
These Internet Providers all have some great deals, but other than that. There is one that stands out the most. I would choose Rogers because Rogers is the Number 1! For Canada's Fastest Internet Service Provider! and I personally don't like having slow internet and I live in Canada. I'm pretty sure no one does and Rogers has dedicated network paths. So that means that the network is not shared!. So if I were to do something in my house like watch videos on YouTube, then if people try and use my internet then I can lock them out. Also Rogers is committed to continually testing and optimizing their internet packages are to deliver consistently fast speeds to their customers.
Along with the other 2 internet providers, They don't have all the similar features as Rogers besides the internet service.
