Science & Social Impact of Marijuana in America!! where marijuana come from??? Marijuana was first found in China around 4000 B.C. They first used it for hemp fiber to make rope. They grew the marijuana plant to make hemp. They would beat the plant with stone beaters to make hemp fiber, then they would twist it to make rope. Hemp has been found in Egyptian tombs. Greeks and Romans also used hemp rope. The Romans took it to Europe.
