Bayon Temple
Located in Siem Reap, Cambodia
Bayon is a Buddhist Temple represents Hindu cosmology. Most people believe that if they stand in the center of the temple they are standing in the inersection of heaven and earth.
It was built in 1190 AD
Banteay Srei
Located in Angkor, Cambodia
Banteay Srei was an Hindu Temple dedicated to Shiva which may explain why its name means the
Citadel of Women
. What is amazing about the Temple is that it was built some 150 years before Angkor itself.
It was built in 967 AD
At the Angkor Wat Temple 2 americans were arrested for taking nude photos of their buttocks. The girls weren't the first at this stunt though. 3 french tourists were also taking nude photos at the Banteay Srei Temple. Heritage officials were furious at the recent wave of pornographic stunts at the Unesco website. They were already furious about a incident that happened a month before when a british tourist smashed a buddhist statue. Now authorities have made a notice to foreign tourists saying, “When entering religious and cultural sites it is a courtesy to dress in appropriate clothing."

Current Event
& Picture
Mongolia recently refused to pay nearly $100 million
to Canadian uranium company Khan Resources, despite being ordered to by an international tribunal. The order came as compensation for canceling the Dornod uranium mining project earlier this year and giving it to the Russian company AMRZ. Mongolian shares have since dropped and analysts believe that this decision will seriously hurt the country's attempts to gain foreign investment.

Recently officials in Thailand confiscated over 700 elephant tusks. The shipment had been labeled as a shipment of beans but actually there were hundreds of smuggled ivory tusks.
