Teacher Talk: Can you see a banana, a ball, birds, bears, balloons and bees?
What beginning sound can you hear? /b/. /b/ /b/ /b/ bird, /b/ /b/ /b/ bear, . . .
Ask students to show their index finger and write the letter in the air.
Ask students to say the word while they are looking at the picture. Then help them say the beginning sound of a word.
Focus on the sound; /b/ when introducing the words.
What sound does it make?
Help students say the word that corresponds to the picture.
Then ask them to make the beginning sound of each word.
Optional Activity: Put the picture cards around the class. And show students the letter card and ask them what sound it makes. Then ask them to find out the picture card that corresponds to the sound.
