D-Day June 6, 1944 By Eric Rose & Dan Pivonka On June 6, 1944 Omaha Beach in
Normandy, France was invaded by the U.S. Army The U.s. had to gain control
of the beach to connect with the british troops to the east. Omaha Beach was Divided into ten
sections named Charlie, Dog (green, white, red), Easy (green, red) and Fox (green, red). At Omaha Beach the beaches with coverd with barb wire, land mines, bunkers and rocky cliffs providing multiple angles for snipers to be at. A few day after landing on Omaha
Beach 11000 troops, 2000 land
vehicles and 10000 tons of supplies. Supplies and reienforcments
were dropped by aircrafts days after If the Beach was not stormed and the
US didnt stop German advance in France
then Hitler could have possibly had control
of one of the most important coutries in
Europe. This started the beginning of the end.
