Double click anywhere & add an idea Allied Forces The Land assault was designed to give the Allied Forces Safe Passage through the Dardenells to lay seige on Constantinople. commemorates the landing of Australian and New Zealand troops at Gallipoli on 25 April 1915. The date, 25 April, was officially named ANZAC Day in 1916. WHY do we have an ANZAC Day? Australian New Zealand Army Corps Australia New Zealand Britian - and it's Empire France Ottoman Empire Russia Germany Central Forces Austria - HUngary Restored footage from Gallipoli ANZAC Australian and New Zealand troops arrived in the early hours of the morning, in the cover of darkness. The Ottoman Army were waiting and the fighting battle began.
