Transcript of A Cell is like a Factory

Cytoplasm:Factory Floor
The cytoplasm contains the organelles, just like how the factory floor contains all the machines and workers.
ER:Assembly Line
The ER is where the ribosomes do there work to create proteins. The assembly line is where workers do their jobs to create the factory's products.
Lysosomes:Maintenance Crew
Lysosomes are responsible for breaking down and disposing of waste in the cell similar to how a maintenance crew cleans up and takes out the trash.
Mitochondria:Power Plant
The mitochondria provides the cell with energy while a power plant supplies energy to a factory.
Cell Membrane:Shipping/Receiving Department
The cell membrane regulates what enters and leaves the cell, similar to factories shipping department.
A Cell is like a Factory
Cytoskeleton:Building Structure
The cytoskeleton of a cell maintains the cells shape. The building structure does the same thing by supporting walls and ceilings to keep the building from collapsing.
Nucleus:Chief Executive Office (CEO)
The nucleus controls and runs the cell just like the CEO of a factory dictates the activities of employees.
Golgi Apparatus:Packaging Department
The Golgi Apparatus is in charge of packaging proteins just like how the packaging department puts together products to prepare them for shipping.
Ribosomes work to create proteins in the ER while factory employees also work to create their product on assembly lines.
Proteins are created with in the cell by ribosomes similar to factory products being created by workers.
