The five truths in the creation story
Transcript of The five truths in the creation story
Five truths in the
1. God created the world
The Bible and our faith teaches us that God had a very important role in the creation of the world. When God created the earth he also created humans, flora and fauna. It is important for us to believe in our faith and be proud of it.
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." ~ Genesis 1:1
2. We are stewards of creation
We are responsible for looking after the world and everything within it. We are to show that by helping people in need, not being selfish or greedy and appreciate everything we have.
"The Lord God took the man and put him
in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it." ~Genesis 2:15
in the creation story
3. The world is good
4. We are co-creators
God gives everyone gifts for them to use in their own way. These are expected to be used for good. Together with God we should make the Earth a better place. We can do this by looking after our environment, keeping
peace amongst each other and teaching people about God through the way we act.
God blessed them and said to them "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it" ~Genesis 1:28
5. We are created in God's image and likeness
We are like Gods masterpieces. We are all unique and have different qualities. God created us like we are his sons and daughter. This means we have to respect every other individual, don't judge others and be thankful for the gifts God gave us.
"So God created human beings in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them"
~ Genesis 1:27
Everyone has good in them but it is the choices we make that decide who we are throughout life. People are capable of goodness and good
will always outweigh evil. We can show
this by bringing out the good in others,
respect everyone and treat them as God would.
"God saw all that he had made, and it
was very good." ~Genesis 1:31
