His most famous art works were of Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, Mick Jagger, and Mao Zedong.
His portrait ' Eight Elvises ' eventually was resold for 100 million dollars in 2008.
Richard Hamilton described his work as popular, expendable, low cost, mass produced, young, witty, sexy, gimmicky, glamorous big business.

He was a successful Magazine Illustrator and leading pop art artist.
He experimented with different types of art forms like: performance art, film making,and writing.
Graduated with a Bachelor of fine arts degree.
Moved to New York to continue his passion for art.
Got a job with ' Glamor magazine'.
In 1964 he opened his own art studio, a large silver painted warehouse known as the factory.
In 1967 he created his first book ' Andy Warhol's index '
