The Ben Franklin Project: A Bold New Experiment A 30-day deadline - Web and newspaper will be produced by May 19, 2010

Both the website and newspaper will be produced using only free tools widely available online

The project puts the selection and direction of the content of the News-Herald largely in the community's hands through the use of "crowd-sourcing" "Were it left to me to decide whether we should have a government without newspapers, or newspapers without a government, I should not hesitate a moment to prefer the latter." - Thomas Jefferson We already crowdsource the news
