Why Did they walk
-They were made to attack enemy families
-The statues also had to move with their
colony
- The Rapa Nui used there sacred magic to make these moai statues walk.

- When the colonies decided to go to their own small islands the Moai were left behind
-After the treaty the Moai's magic was extracted
-Forces like wind knocked some statues over
-Before the Europeans some respected Moais were placed on monuments

-Easter Island is a small island on the coast of Chile.

-It is famous for it's ancient statues of human looking heads. These heads were made of rocks and was carved by the natives.

-The Island had many small hills and a volcano. Many people visit Easter Island because it is a big tourist attraction.


-Rapa Nui people arrived in boats and made villages on Easter Island island.
-They built stone statues to represent each family.
-Eventually making the statues became a new trend and everyone tried to create as much statues as possible.
-After many years the island ran out of resources and started to resort to cannibalism.
-Families started to kill each other and also knocked other's statues down too.
-People started making alliances with other families. Eventually people started to do witchcraft on their statues trying to use them as weapons against others.
-This allowed the statues to walk around
-The war ended with a treaty from the colonies
-right after the colonies they were enslaved from the europians
