Transcript of Temperate Deciduous Forest
The average temperature in temperate deciduous forests is roughly 75°F (24°C) but gets as high as 86°F (30°C), depending on the altitude of the forest.
The latitude range is anywhere from 23 ° north to 38 ° south Abiotic Factors,Temperature, and the location in the Temperate Deciduous Forest The Biotic factors, and Animals Biotic Factors: Animals, plants Animal#1:American Bald Eagle
Adaptation: Bald Eagle has little bumps on the bottom of its feet, called spicules. These spicules, along with razor sharp talons, help the eagle grip its prey while flying. It can migrate if it wants to, depending on location. If its territory has access to open water, it remains there all year, but if the body of water freezes during the winter, making it almost impossible to get food, it migrates to the south or to the coast. Animal#2:Coyote
Adaptation: Coyotes adjust their hunting style to what foods are available. When they hunt small prey alone, they usually stalk it and then pounce. If the prey is larger like a deer, they will often hunt in small packs and work together to kill the prey. Animal#3:Chipmunk
They can run quickly to get away from predators. They have a good sense of hearing to sense danger. They blend in with the wood and forest around them. They have sharp teeth and paws for finding and digging up food or making burrows, they also hibernate during the winter so they don't die of cold. They find and store food all year long for the long winter months. Plant#1:American BeechAdaptation:Beech trees have many leaves to catch sunlight so it can grow alot.
