Keep Germs Away, Everyday!
Do antibacterial soaps or sanitizers work better than plain soap
Handwashing has always been a part of basic hygiene, efen when full body bathing was all ignored
HANDWASHING
Handwashing is the single most important thing you can do to stop the spread of infection and keep you from getting sick.
In 1847, Dr. Ignaz Philipp Semmelweis proved washing hands reduce the spread of puerperal fever
He proof that washing hands with chlorinated lime reduced the incidence of infection from 12% to 2%
Semmelweis is now recognized as a pioneer of antiseptic policy
Puerperal fever is a disease that affected woman giving birth and is caused by Streptococcus

When should you wash your hands?
Before you eat
After you go to the bathroom
After you play with pets
After you play outside
After blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing
After touching garbage
When you get home
Wet your hands with clean, running water (warm or cold)
Apply soap to your hands adequately
Rub your hands together to make lather and scrub them well
Rinse your hands well under running water
Dry your hands using a clean towel or air dry them
Use a towel to turn off faucet
What is the right way to wash your hands?
How do you use hand sanitizers?
Apply the product to the palm of one hand
Rub your hands together
Rub the product over all surfaces of your hands and fingers until your hands are dry

Antibacterial soaps is no more effective than plain soap with proper handwashing
What if you don’t have soap and clean, running water?
Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
It can quickly reduce the number of germs on hands
BUT, sanitizers do not eliminate all types of germs
REMEMBER: Hand sanitizers are not as effective when hands are visibly dirty
