and Text Speak having a negative effect in Language? Research... of teens who answered our
questionnaire responded that Twitter was the main social networking site they log on to and use text speak on. of teens who answered our questionnaire asked said Facebook is the main social networking site they go on and use text speak on. of teens who answered our questionnaire said texting was their main form of social networkin where they used text speak. of teens who answered our questionnaire said that they use their phones to call people as their main social networking. of teens who answered our questionnaire said BlackBerry messenger is the main form of social networking and use of text speak. We asked 65 teenagers what their main form of social networking is and from this main source of text speak. The Lexicon of the English Language- Why is it changing? -Generation Gaps

Speak Acronyms Initials such as OMG and WTF. Phonetics This means spelling words how they sound, e.g. ova for 'over.' Numerical Homophones The use of numbers in place
for letters which sound the same e.g. '2day.' Abbreviations and
Deletion Shortening words such as
'txt' and deleting vowels. Emoticons Small faces and images
now being used in writing to represent emotions. Omission Missing out apostrophe's
in words. e.g. 'cant.' Two of the largest forms of social networking are Facebook and Twitter. Could these these also be the two largest forms of communication and responsible for change in language?
