“Invalid” Test.

Notice the missing control line in the first window. Any test with missing control lines must be considered invalid.

“Positive” for PCP (Phencyclidine).

Notice the test line for the PCP strip is missing. A missing line indicates a positive as long as a control line is visible.

“Negative” for all drugs.

Notice both control lines and test lines are present.
Any Test line – no matter how faint – is a negative result.

Control Line

Single (Opiates)

T1 PCP

Multiple drugs may be tested on a single strip for configurations larger than a 7-panel. In this event, the drug classes are represented by T1 (Test 1) and T2 (Test 2). In the first test strip window the T1 represents PCP and the T2 represents AMP. Configurations that test for 7 drugs or less use single drug strips as displayed by the two strips on the right (MET and OPI). Note that the “Control” line is present on each strip to indicate the test ran properly.

T2 AMP

STEP 5 Read the Test Results

U.S. Diagnostics

INVALID RESULT An Invalid test is indicated only when the “C” control lines and the “T” test lines are completely missing in one or more of the test windows. In the event of an invalid test a second test should be run.

POSITIVE RESULT A Positive test is indicated by the presence of only a “C” control line and the ABSENCE of the test line for the designated drug. Wait 5 minutes to read Positive Results

NEGATIVE RESULT This is also a Negative screen. Even a very light colored line indicates a negative result.

NEGATIVE RESULT A Negative test is indicated by the presence of a test line for each designated drug.

Control lines are lines that appear in the test windows next to the letter "C" and indicate that the test has run and functioned properly.

Test lines are lines that appear in the test windows next to the drug abbreviations indicating the presence or absence of drug metabolite.

Note: If a test line appears, that is an indicator of a "negative" specimen. Only the absence of a line (missing line) indicates a "positive" specimen.
Lay cup forward so that it stands on the "feet".
