The Hunger Games: Catching Fire
Haymitch Abernathy
He is the winner of the 50th Hunger Games and from District 12. He used the force-field to kill the last tribute, making the Capital look stupid. His family and girlfriend were killed as a result. He first met Katniss as she had been reaped for 74th Hunger Games. He has blonde hair, blue eyes and a beard. He is known to be skilled with knives and intelligent. He comes from a district known for coal mining. In the movie, he shown sleeping with a knife. He is smart and cunning. He is 40 In Hunger Games and 41 in Catching Fire.
Dialogue:
By convincing twelve other victors in the tribute pool
of the rebellion cause under the nose of President
Snow, he is cunning. He is able to orchestrate this
without arousing suspicion from both the Capitol
and Katniss herself. Although the scene of his collusion
is not present in any scene, it occurred sometime before
the actual games and evident when he says, "So at least
half of the victors have instructed their mentors to request
you as an ally."
Action:
He is smart because of the rebellion he set up where he used Peeta and Katniss as its symbols. This allowed the people of the districts to give a face, a symbol of unification to rise against the Capitol. He was also in league with Plutarch Heavensbee. He manage to put his plan into action when the 75th Hunger Games began. The revelation to Katniss occurred when he was in the airship with Finnick and Plutarch. When Katniss came at him with a syringe, he playfully responded "See, this is why no one lets you make the plans."


Johanna Mason
She is the winner of the 71st Hunger Games. She won by pretending to be weak. When the number of tributes thinned, she slaughtered the remaining tributes. She is 21 in Catching Fire. She first met Katniss when they shared an elevator as they were heading to their respective rooms. Her family was slaughtered by the Capital. She was reaped again during the 75th Hunger Games. She is skilled with an axe, because her District (District 7) is renowned for providing lumber to the Capital. During the games, she is seen with Wiress and Beetee. She has black hair with red tips, and black eyes. In the movie, she took Katniss's tracer so the Capital could not track her down. She is ruthless and hot-tempered.
Dialogue:
She is ruthless because during the 75th Hunger Games, she killed Cashmere with one blow to her chest. She is ruthless because all she cared was for herself. She also wanted to destroy the Capital. She also cursed during her interview in a ruthless tone. The setting is where she assaults Katniss, cutting open her arm to remove the tracker and keep her put. She says these words during her interview "Well yes, I'm angry. You know, I'm getting totally screwed over here. The deal was that if I win the Hunger Games I get to live the rest of my life in peace, but now, you want to kill me again. Well, you know what? F*ck that. I said f*ck everybody that had anything to do with it!"
Setting:
She is hot-tempered because she gets angry at the Capital and President Snow. She likes to show
her hatred during the Capital and not afraid to stop. She complained that the "deep bond" between victors and the Capitol should not be severed and wondered if something could be done to change the Quell. She shows her hot-temper when during the interview. Her attitude with the
Capital is like something you don't want to be drawn into and she started hated the Capital after she won the Games.

Finnick Odair
Finnick Odair was a male victor from District 4. He was known for winning the 65th Hunger Games at the age of 14 and was later one of the survivors of the 3rd Quarter Quell. He is the significant other of Annie Cresta. He is a Career Tribute because he is from District 4. He and Mags had a close relationship because Mags was Finnick's mentor, eventually becoming as close as family. In the movie, it shows Finnick mostly taking care of Mags. He has blonde hair and brown eyes. He is skilled with a trident and nets. He is caring and flirtatious.

Dialogue:
He is caring because he stayed with Mags and cared for her during the games. He also helped Peeta when he was near death. He helped Katniss fend off the muttations. The settings of his trait was when he was crying out Mags,because he didn't want her to die. He said these very words, before Mags went to the fog, ''Mags, what is it? Mags...Mags...MAGS!" to show that he cared for her.
Setting:
He is flirtatious because he wanted to give Katniss a sugar cube and "Get to know all her secrets".
Katniss at first views Finnick as extremely flirtatious and using a "seductive purr" when he speaks.
Katniss was unable to read his motives when they were in the arena together, but believes that she would be better off killing him sooner rather than later, until he revives Peeta. He shows his
flirtatious during the interview when he was about to read his poem. He says during his interview
when Caesar Flickerman when he asked, "Is there any woman in your life that you want to say to
her?" He says, "Yes and pray for me, so that I can see your face again.'


Mags

Mags was the female tribute from District 4 during the 75th Hunger Games, for which she volunteered. She was also the victor in the one of the earliest Hunger Games. She is the mentor of Finnick. She recently had a stroke and can't speak. She was the oldest tribute in the Games. She is around her 80's. She has long grey hair. Mags is skilled with a Awl and a hook. In the movie, she showed Katniss a trap she made. She is kindhearted and caring.
Setting:
She is kindhearted because she treated Finnick as her
own son and volunteered for Annie Cresta. She also showed
some traps to Katniss that are useful. She also helped nurse
Peeta back to health. Katniss thought, "It was obvious
she didn't volunteer because she thought she could win,
she did it to save Annie Cresta."
Action:
She is caring because she sacrificed herself to make sure
Peeta lived. In the movie, she was also worried when
Peeta fought a tribute under-water and didn't come up
after the cannon shot. Where she shows the trait that she
is caring, is when she sacrificed herself when they were
running from the fog. She cared so greatly for them and for
their cause that she chose to die for them.



Beetee Latier is the male tribute from District 3 who participated in the 75th Hunger Games, was the victor of the 35th Hunger Games, and is one of the 6 people who survived the 75th Hunger Games. He has black hair, a mustache and a beard. He won his Hunger Games by going to the Cornucopia, fashioned some wires and killed the remaining six tributes. He is skilled in wires and technology. In the movie, he is shown with a wire and came up with the idea strap it to the tree and run the line to the beach. He is intelligent and easy to trust.
Setting:
He is intelligent because during the time in the training center, Beetee told Katniss
that there is a force-field where the Gamemaker watches. He is also smart because he knew that electricity runs through a wire because metal conducts electricity. He manages to find out that the arena is also a clock. He shows his intelligence during the training room, where he was able to recognize and show Katniss the force-field. When Katniss asked, "How did you know there was a force-field?" He replied that he helped design it.
Diaglogue:
He is easy to trust because he was the one person apart from Peeta who Katniss fully trusted in the 75th Hunger Games. She wanted him as an ally during the training room.
He was one of the people to gain Katniss trust. Words of advice he gives to Katniss in their first meeting: "Thinking like your prey... that's where you find their vulnerabilities."
