History of
CHINA
Records of the history of China can be found from as early as 1200BC.
It is officially known as the
People's Republic of China
which was established in Beijing on 1st October, 1949.
After World War II, the communists under Mao Zedong established an autocratic socialist system that maintained a command economy.

In 1978, Mao's successor DENG Xiaoping and other leaders focused on market-oriented economic development and by 2000, the economic output had quadrupled.
