Life in Alabama in the 1930's Families often had to make their own clothes and blankets because they did not have enough money to buy new ones Families often had alot of kids. For example, a family could have 8-10 kids People where homeless because they could not afford houses Not only did african amarican families suffer, but white families did too. Children would have to work in the fields instead of going to school People would often look for food in garbage dumps or eat weeds People would ride in box cars on trains in search of work, this way they could travel free of charge But some children got the oppertunity to go to school Life in Alabama During the 1930's
